So sad that it’s the end of a season! Our neighbors moved along with Chief’s bestie, Cecil. Our daily puppy play dates are no more. This was the final play date for these two – we snuck one last in late in the afternoon before they hit the road.
It took me months to be able to edit these because the pain was so acute as crazy as that sounds. It took months before Chief stopped spending all his time outside sitting staring at his friend’s house waiting for him to appear. I’m grateful through, because somewhere near the end of the 3rd month, Chief started to learn to self-amuse again. It’s been healing for us both as we’ve found our new routines. So now these pictures are happy memories rather than the stark pain of the loss of our sweet friendship.
