Dyed4you

Purpose: to give information on and sell custom-dyed scarves.

Techniques Utilized

  • Card Sorting
  • User interface design
  • Paper prototyping

Goal

  • A more intuitive user interface and a fresh design

High-Level Findings

Card sorting revealed that the initial site’s navigation did not make sense to the users. Additionally it used terms that the users interpreted differently than intended.

The site was redesigned based on the card sorting results and the feedback from the paper prototyping sessions. The re-launch received a lot of positive feedback from the users.

User Quote

"I'm not quite sure how she does it. The depth of color? The graphics? All I know, is this... The dyed4you site is like visiting the home of a good friend. The models showcasing the products are warm and inviting. Traveling through the site is easy, like having a personal friend hand you each product for inspection. In a world of confusing websites and advertising assaults, dyed4you is a sweet retreat. Meg Williams is a true forerunner in webdesign."
